Privacy Policy
Fable Brawlers · Last updated October 21, 2026
Fable Brawlers ("the game") is made by CD, an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the game and this website handle, why, who else is involved, and the choices you have.
- Fable Brawlers is an online game. When you play with other people, they see your Meta display name, your fighter and how you move, and the game's online services see your IP address so they can connect you.
- You never make an account with us. Online play uses an anonymous ID created on your headset.
- Your progress is saved on your headset. We can't see it.
- There is no voice chat and no text chat. The game does not use your microphone or cameras.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking for advertising. We never sell your information.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Meta. We never see your payment details.
1. What the game handles, and why
| Information | Where it comes from | What it's used for | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meta display name (or Meta username if you have no display name) | Your Meta account, through the Meta platform on your headset | Shown over your fighter, on your house's mailbox and in the world so other players know who you are | Other players in the same world as you |
| Meta user ID and ownership check | Your Meta account | Confirms you own the game when it starts | The game on your headset and Meta. We don't store it. |
| Anonymous player ID | Created on your headset by Unity Authentication the first time you play online | Lets the online services put you in a world and keep the connection working | Unity (our online service provider) |
| IP address and basic connection and device data | Your internet connection | Connecting you to other players and keeping the online services secure and working | Unity. Other players' headsets connect through Unity's relay, not directly to yours. |
| Private room code | Typed by you | Lets friends who know the code join the same private world | Unity, and anyone you give the code to |
| Gameplay data: your fighter's look, mask, level, head and hand movement, punches, vehicle, house colours, trades | Your play | Makes the shared world work, so everyone sees the same fight | Other players in the same world, live while you play |
| Your saved progress and settings | Your play | Lets you pick up where you left off | Only you. It stays on your headset. |
| Purchase records | Meta, when you buy something in the game | Giving you what you bought | Meta. The game only learns which item you bought. |
| Feedback and bug reports you choose to send | You, through our website | Fixing bugs and improving the game | Us and our website host (Netlify) |
2. Online play
Public worlds
When you press Play Online, the game puts you in a public world that has space, or opens a new one. Up to ten players share a world. Anyone playing Fable Brawlers can join a public world, including people you don't know. While you're in it, those players can see your Meta display name, your fighter and its look, your house and vehicle, and your movement, and they can play, fight monsters and trade with you.
Private worlds
When you type a room code, the game opens (or joins) a private world that doesn't appear in public matchmaking. Anyone who knows or guesses the code can join, so treat it like a password: share it only with people you want to play with, and use a code that isn't easy to guess. Never use your real name, your address, a password or other personal information as a room code. Inside a private world, the same information is shared with the other players as in a public one.
Local network play
The game can also host or join a game on your own Wi-Fi. On your home network the game announces the host's name so other headsets on that same network can find it. That doesn't go over the internet.
How the connection works
The first player in a world hosts it on their headset. Everyone's game traffic is carried between headsets by Unity's relay servers, so other players don't get your IP address from the game. The services we use for this are Unity Authentication (an anonymous sign-in, with no email or password), Unity Lobby / Sessions (finding and joining worlds) and Unity Relay (carrying the traffic). They are run by Unity Technologies, which processes this information for us under its own privacy policy and its terms for game developers.
What we don't do online
- There is no voice chat and no text chat in the game. The game does not use your microphone or cameras.
- We don't record, store or watch what happens in a world. A world disappears when everyone leaves it.
- We don't build profiles of players or follow you across other apps or websites.
3. Safety and reporting
Public worlds mean playing with strangers. Our Player Rules explain what's not allowed. If someone is breaking them:
- Leave the world at any time, or switch to a private world with people you know.
- Report them with the Report button on your Meta Quest. Meta's reporting tool may capture what's happening (for example a short recording) and include the player's Meta account so Meta can review it. Meta handles those reports under its own policies.
- Or email us at CONTACT_EMAIL with what happened, roughly when, and the player's display name.
We may use information in a report to investigate it, and may share it with Meta, Unity or law enforcement if the law requires it or someone is at risk of harm.
4. What stays on your headset
Your progress (masks, levels, abilities, currencies, quests, your house and vehicles), your look and your settings are saved on your headset. That data doesn't leave your device through the game, and we can't see it. Uninstalling the game deletes it. If you use Meta's own app-data backup, Meta handles that copy under its privacy policy.
5. Movement and tracking
The game reads your headset and controller positions (and hand tracking, if you use it) so your punches and movement work. In online play your head and hand positions are sent live to the other players in your world so they can see your fighter move. This data isn't recorded or stored by us. The game doesn't collect eye tracking, face tracking, room scans or camera images.
6. Purchases
You get Fable Brawlers through the Meta Horizon Store. Any in-game purchases are made through Meta, which handles payment, your Meta account and receipts. The game is told only which item you bought so it can give it to you. We never receive your card or payment details. Meta's terms and privacy policy cover purchases, including refunds.
7. Meta
The game runs on the Meta Horizon platform. The game uses it to check you own the game, get your display name, and receive in-game purchases. Meta also runs your account, your headset and the store. Those are covered by Meta's own privacy policy, not this one. The game doesn't get your Meta email, real name, friends list, location or payment details.
8. This website and feedback
This website is hosted by Netlify (in the United States). Like any website host, Netlify records the IP address and browser details of visitors in its server logs for security and to keep the site running. The site uses no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers.
If you send feedback or a bug report from our feedback page, we receive what you typed (the kind of report, your message, your game version) and, only if you enter it, your email address so we can reply. Reports are stored in our Netlify account and email. We keep a report for up to 12 months, then delete it.
9. How long we keep things
- Worlds and room codes: only while the world is open. When everyone leaves, the world and its code are gone.
- Anonymous player ID: stays on your headset until you uninstall the game. Unity keeps its record of the ID under its retention rules. We can ask Unity to delete it if you ask us.
- Unity connection logs: kept by Unity for a limited time for security and to run the service.
- Feedback, bug reports and safety reports: up to 12 months, or longer only if needed to deal with a safety issue or a legal requirement.
- Saved progress: on your headset until you uninstall the game.
10. Who we share information with
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising (as California law defines it). We only share it with:
- Other players in your world, as described above.
- Unity Technologies, to run online play.
- Meta, which runs the platform, the store, purchases and headset reporting.
- Netlify, which hosts this website and the feedback form.
- Authorities, if the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
Some of these companies are in the United States and other countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. Where the law requires it, these transfers are covered by the providers' standard safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Children
Fable Brawlers is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Who can use a Meta Quest, and which apps a younger player can use, is set by Meta's account rules and its parental supervision tools. Because public worlds include players you don't know, parents can use those tools, private worlds, and the Report button to keep play safe. If you think a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Your rights and choices
- Play offline or privately. You can play solo, or only in private worlds with friends.
- Your display name comes from your Meta account. Change it in your Meta account settings to change what other players see.
- Delete your data. Uninstall the game to delete your saved progress and anonymous ID from your headset. Ask us and we'll delete any report you sent and ask Unity to delete the online records linked to your player ID.
- Access, correct or object. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, or US state privacy laws like California's), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how it's used, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We won't treat you differently for using these rights. Contact us below. We may need to ask a question to confirm the request is yours.
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: running the game you asked to play (online play, showing your display name, delivering purchases); our legitimate interests in keeping the game secure, fair and safe and fixing bugs; your consent when you choose to send us feedback or an email address; and legal obligations.
13. Security
Online traffic is carried by Unity's services, and this website is served over HTTPS. We keep as little as we can. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't put personal information in room codes, feedback or reports unless it's needed.
14. Changes
If an update changes what the game does with information (for example, adding voice or text chat, cloud saves, friends lists or leaderboards), we will update this page and the date above before that update ships. Big changes will also be mentioned in the update notes.
